I’m Katie–writer, blogger, atheist, pragmatist, introvert, Disney movie aficionado, occasional misanthrope, book lover, and cheesecake-enthusiast… and Kermit the Frog thought it wasn’t easy being green. I have a B.A. in English, and I live and work in the Chicago area.
Sass & Balderdash is where I shower the world with all of my unsolicited opinions, exercises in devil’s advocacy, personal reflections, and everything else in between. As a rule, I most like to write about what I know… which is nothing.
What else should you know about me? I’m an unapologetic, no-holds-barred, elitist grammar snob–but not in an annoying way. On certain matters, I’m a compulsive perfectionist. I’ll do depraved things to avoid cleaning. Broccoli is my favorite vegetable, and I eat it just about every day (yes, seriously). I’m an appreciator of rationality and an overanalyzer. A Cosmopolitan is my cocktail of choice. I hate Mini Coopers with a passion.
I value philanthropy, and I’m involved with several charitable organizations including Rational People Against Mini Coopers (RPAMC), Feed America Broccoli, and the Stop Small Talk Initiative.
I lost 120lbs. between August 2011 and October 2012, but sadly my endorsement deal with Weight Watchers fell through, so now I’m stuck writing this blog.
Everything else you need to know about me, you’ll probably learn from looking around the blog.
I hope you enjoy Sass & Balderdash! (…I think you probably will, but I’m biased.)
